Resume Writing Course: 6 sessions
Creating a resume with the right key word language and the correct seven sections is the first step to getting an interview. This course will prepare the participant to understand how important resume structure is and what should be included. And what outreach strategies must be used to accomplish a successful outcome.

Purpose of a Resume -Workshop: Find a Job Description. Assignment: Build a list accomplishments.

Resume Structure– Workshop: Outline the resume structure. Assignment: 2-3 responsibilities per role

How to Build Effective Resume Content– Workshop: Build effective bullet points. Assignment: Polish your bullet points

Resume Strategy and Understanding Keywords– Workshop: Find keywords in your Job Description. Assignment: Align your resume keywords to the job description Job Search Technology:

Creating a LinkedIn Profile– Workshop: Build your LinkedIn profile- Assignment: Complete your LinkedIn Profile and reach “all-star” status.

Goal Setting Course Description: 5 sessions
Setting a goal is the first step to a successful outcome. Participants will learn what SMART Goals are and what steps are required to develop a well thought out plan.
- Session 1
Introduction-Define Goals. Importance of Goals. Types of Goals. SMART GoalAction Plan Creation and Follow-Through. Progress Monitoring. Completing Goal and Next Steps
- Sessions 2
Importance of Goals- who should write them. what types of goals. Why should you write goals. When should goals be written. Where and in what setting should goals take place. How do I write a successful goal?
- Session 3
Types of Goals- when to use Short Term (hourly up to 1 month). Medium Term (1-5months). Long Term (5 months plus) for Academic. Social. Health. Financial. and personal goals
- Session 4
SMART Goal- Specific. Measurable. Achievable. Relevant. Time-SensitiveAction Plan Creation and Follow-Through. Objective (action steps). Start DateCompletion Date. What do I need? Did I achieve my goal?
- Session 5
Progress Monitoring- Journaling. Adjustment of goal. Self-improvement Completing Goal and Next Steps. Did you receive the desired outcome. How and when should goals be modified.

Financial Literacy: 5 sessions
Financial Literacy is the key to the participants’ financial life. The adage of “it’s not the money you make but the money you save” that will help you become financially independent. Participants will learn the basics that will help them achieve their financial goals.
- Session 1
Budgeting – participants will learn what a budget is and how to manage monthly expenses, bills, and income and use that information to create a monthly budget.
- Session 2
Saving – participants will learn how to start saving and review the best saving strategies that will help them increase the funds in their bank account.
- Session 3
Using Credit – participants will learn the difference between credit & debit and how to use credit to help build their financial future and explore how NOT to use credit.
- Session 4
Investing – participants will learn the basics of investing, explore the difference between trading and investing, and determine how to find the best stocks for their personal portfolio. Students will participate in an investment simulation to see how well their stocks would perform in real life.

Earning Income/Entrepreneurship – Today, people can earn an income in a variety of ways. participants will explore different income-earning opportunities and learn the basics of starting a business.
